Validation and Monitoring

RSA Geotechnics have advised in a number of successful land remediation and validation schemes. Our involvement in a management or supervisory role is tailored to meet the needs of the individual project, whilst ensuring that sufficient information is collected and documented to allow approval and ‘sign-off’ from the regulators.

Our role in the project may be in the form of a ‘watching brief’ or in a more direct supervisory capacity working together with the development team, remediation specialists and the various construction contractors. In both cases our team of geoenvironmental engineers and geologists will carry out site monitoring and validation of the remediation operations to ensure that the development meets the approval of the relevant regulatory authorities.

The land remediation operations will have to be continuously monitored and validation testing will need to be undertaken on a number of samples recovered throughout the process in order to ensure they the remedial work is carried out and completed in accordance with the approved Remediation Method Statement.

The final stage is the submission of a detailed Verification Report for the remedial works which will include copies of all records, drawings, plans and confirmatory analysis. This Verification Report is then submitted to the regulatory bodies to enable the remediation to be ‘signed off’ and any associated planning conditions to be discharged.

We can also provide cost effective solutions for both the investigation and the remediation of commercial and domestic oil spills. It is essential that any oil spillage is dealt with quickly to prevent the pollution of any surface and groundwater resources, which can lead to prosecution and a heavy fine on top of the associated ‘clean-up’ costs.
