RSA Geotechnics has extensive experience of a wide range of buildings and structures from single houses to multi-storey offices and hotels with basements, small factory extensions through to large commercial warehouses.

Each geotechnical assessment or ground investigation is site-specific and must be tailored to meet the engineering requirements for the project. The scope of the investigation will depend upon the anticipated ground conditions and the design and construction proposals.

Based on the findings of the site investigation a number of engineering calculations and foundation solutions may need to be considered:

• geotechnical appraisal of existing foundations
• recommendations for new foundations
• bearing capacity
• settlement analysis
• safe working loads for piled foundations
• conventional rafts and piled rafts

Foundation engineering solutions may include normal shallow spread foundations, rafts, many forms of ground improvement, bored and driven load bearing piles and settlement reducing piles.
